Satya Nadella
Satya Nadella (Telugu సత్య నాదెళ్ల) (* 19. August 1967 in Hyderabad, Indien) ist ein US-amerikanischer Informatiker. Seit dem 4. Februar 2014 ist Nadella Chief Executive Officer (CEO) von Microsoft.[1]
Leben
Satya Nadella ist der Sohn von B.N. Yugandhar, der Mitglied der Planungskommission war.[2]. Satya Nadella besucht bis 1984 die Hyderabad Public School.[3]
Er machte 1988[4] einen Bachelor in Elektrotechnik an der Mangalore University in Konaje, Mangalore, Karnataka, Indien, anschliessend einen Master in Informatik an der University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in den Vereinigten Staaten und einen Master in Business Administration an der University of Chicago. Später arbeitete er bei Sun Microsystems und ging 1992 zu Microsoft. Hier war er unter anderem Präsident des Geschäftsbereiches für Unternehmenssoftware mit einem Umsatz 2013 von mehr als 20 Milliarden US-Dollar.[5]. Im Juli 2013 wurde er Executive Vice President für den Bereich "Cloud and Enterprise".[6][7]
Ende Januar 2014 wurde bekannt, dass Satya Nadella aussichtsreicher Nachfolger von Steve Ballmer als CEO bei Microsoft ist.[8][7] Am 4. Februar 2014 gab Microsoft bekannt, dass Nadella der neue CEO mit sofortiger Wirkung ist.[9] Sein Nachfolger als Cloud-Chef wurde Scott Guthrie.[10]
Satya Nadella ist verheiratet und hat drei Kinder.[11] Die Familie lebt in Bellevue, Washington.[12]
